Droopys Verve shot home but the firm dodged a bullet. The £5,000 each way at 16/1 the office laid the winner ante-post was looking a good for the punter after that performance.HEAT 11The 11th heat saw, as the commentator described it, as a ‘battle royale’ between 4/5 favourite Mark Wallis trained Droopys Wilbury and Irish raider Jaytee Jaguar, the latter won the tussle, just, after a photo finish deliberation.HEAT 12<span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”>Ben was desperate to lay the jolly and one of the antepost favourites Mark Wallis’ Bruisers Bullet at 4/7 but there were very few takers. Mark Wallis landed a 1-2 but not in the order most people expected with 12/1 Saleen Ash beating the jolly. Most people that is except Mick Livesey who tipped the dog up in our interview yesterday ….<span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”><span data-mce-type=”bookmark” style=”display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;” class=”mce_SELRES_start”>HEAT 13They bet 7/4 each of two in heat 13. A punter waded in with a grand on Lets Be Ready at that price then another at the same price Swithins Brae. We were up the front two, another surprise was required. We didn’t get it, Trap 2 Swithins Brae got the money for Irish trainer Peter Cronin, which meant Ben did his.HEAT 14Boylesports Duke was an easy to back 6/4 out to 7/4 jolly in heat 14 but it was trap 6 God Of War that won the race taking advantage of some bumping to win at 8/1. It may be a mistake to put the result down as a fluke though as the winner had been as big as 20/1 in the betting in the morning, though not backed with us, Aye Aye.HEAT 15Hurdler Lenson Wilson was 11/8 favourite for the 5 runner 15th heat where bets were modest but steady then a punter came in for a £4,000 – £1,000 Trap 1 Honour Turbo and another with a monkey at 7/2 Conors Blake. Usually when the judge calls for a print the result of which sees the favourite chinned on the line it’s happy days. Not when the winner’s Honour Turbo landing the lump it’s not.HEAT 16Shaneboy Freddie was all the rage in heat 16 to win its 100th start, backed from 9/4 into 7/4 including a £900 – £400 with us then another £400 at 7/4. I was primed with the camera to film the roar from the punters as the jolly hoses in but it was not to be as Seamus Cahill’s 2/1 shot Sporting Dave spoilt the party.HEAT 17The feature of heat 17 was a £1,000 bet on favourite Seaglass Sandman at 7/4 followed by a monkey at the same price and very little else on anything else.Or at least that’s what I thought until I gave a stony-faced Ben the Aye Aye when 6/1 Trap 2 Deanridge Boffin won the race only to find out he’d laid a £3,000 – £500 the winner late on.HEAT 18Only four dogs contested the last heat of the evening. It was a lively event with all dogs backed included a bet of £1,500 – £600 trap 5 Alfies Prince. That bet stayed in the hod though the line just came soon enough for favourite Bockos Alfie to hold on to win. Not a lot in it after the second night’s heats but we finished just in front. Tomorrow night promises to be a big night !!last_img
