DONEGAL WATER WARRIORS PICKET FINE GAEL T.D.’s OFFICE

first_imgAnti-water charge protestors have picketed Joe McHugh’s office in their latest demonstration against water charges. The group have been a vocal opponent of the charges from the start and show signs of letting up against a tax they feel is both immoral and unjust.A dozen anti-water campaigners led a small and peaceful protest outside the office of Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh. They hung a tricolour with the words ‘The People’s Flag not Fine Gael’s in a powerful message of defiance against the government. The reason for choosing those words was in response to comments from Fine Gael TD Catherine Byrne who said at the party’s Ard Fheis that they needed to take their flag back as protestors were using it at anti-water demonstrations. That sparked an angry response nationwide from those opposed to the tax and especially fro those based in Letterkenny.Jason Patterson said the reason behind the protest was simple. “It’s just a clear message to Joe McHugh to take back to Enda, it’s the people’s flag not Fine Gael’s and we’re not letting up against water charges now and never will. DONEGAL WATER WARRIORS PICKET FINE GAEL T.D.’s OFFICE was last modified: February 24th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Anti-water chargesCampaignersflagJoe McHughnewsofficePoliticsprotestTDlast_img read more
